Senior Raul Torres, who has been nominated as one of the homecoming finalists, says that it “feels nice to be nominated” and hopes that he and his partner, Keila Osugi, will win. Back in freshman year, Torres never would have thought that he would be nominated as a homecoming finalist, saying that his nomination is totally “unexpected.”

During his past four years of high school, Torres has been on the Mark Keppel football team. His time on the football team led to one of his proudest moments, which happened in freshman year when the Freshman football team won six games in a season. Torres credits sports as being there to “help me to do good in school and motivate me to be a better person on and off the field.”

Also during his time in high school, Torres joined A.L.A.S. (Association of Latin American Students), where he has been able to “meet new people and make new friends, and also, just have lots of fun in general.”

As this is his senior year, Torres would like to tell all the underclassmen to “have fun in your high school years because this is a once in a lifetime experience.” When he leaves Keppel, Torres will really miss sports, his friends, and teachers that he’s had throughout high school. Lastly, Torres would like to give a shoutout to his “bros” on the football team, saying that “It’s been a tough season, but it’s been a good experience
