Q: What is your role in the musical “Hairspray?”
A: I play Seaweed J. Stubbs.

Q: How did you get into Keppel’s musical being that you’re from Alhambra High School?
A: Ms. Phillips called me up one night offering me an opportunity to try out for a role.

Q: Why did Ms. Phillips take interest in you?
A: She thought I’d fit the role nicely because I’m a dancer and African American.

Q: How did you know Ms. Phillips?
A: I went to Keppel last year. I had Drama for 3rd period.

Q: Have you been or auditioned in a play previously?
A: Nope. It’s my first time.

Q: How do you personally relate to your character?
A: We both dance. We both were raised around music, both have daddy issues and both have style.

Q: Do you think this play will change you as a person?
A: From the long hours of rehearsal it teaches me responsibility and leadership.

Q: What is a typical rehearsal like for you?
A: A typical rehearsal day is very interesting and I get to bond with friends I get closer and closer together with. I have fun at rehearsals it’s like a place I can be myself.

Q: Do you see yourself going anywhere in the future from this play?
A: Yes, I am planning on becoming an actor in commercials and if not, I plan to own my own business.

Q: Do you have anything to say to your viewers?
A: I’d like to say I hope to give them a great show and stay entertained while learning some of segregation and the beginning of pop culture.
